Gum Nut Cottage Fibre Mill

We operate a fibre processing mill which is situated on the northern outskirts of Sydney in Glenorie.

Originally we set it up to process alpaca fleece, but now we process (individual) alpacas, sheep, mohair and blends of fleeces. We have already processed a variety of different fleece colours from different sheep types, and blended sheep fleece with alpaca fleeces, etc. Although we have not advertised our business we currently have a processing turn-around time that is around 5-6 months because of the demand on the operations.

Wool 2 Yarn

We are a small boutique mill, located on the Mornington Peninsula, just outside Melbourne. We can process individual fleeces or larger batch production runs for you. We can process your fibre into tops or yarns. Thick or thin or a bit loopi, the fibre tells its story. Our process being a semi worsted gives an extra bulk to the yarn, making it softer, allowing the character of the animal to be expressed. We process coloured wool, angora, alpaca including suri. 100% or blended to your preferred mix. The quality of the fibre is expressed in the yarn.
